J. Masini, CVS, CSSBB, CPCE

Javier is a Certified Value Specialist (CVS), a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), and a Certified Product Cost Expert (CPCE).


He has a BSIE (Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering) from Universidad Panamericana; as well as a Master in Engineering with Emphasis in Quality and Productivity Systems by Instituto Tecnolológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).

He has more than 20 years of experience in value engineering (VE), tear-down analysis, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma for the manufacturing and construction industries.

Javier has successfully led VE workshops across the globe for a range of products, specialized equipment and tools, processes, and facilities. Since 2000, Javier has trained more than 2000 professional engineers in Lean Six Sigma systems and VE. He is currently an instructor for the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) and SAVE International. He also designed the Lean and Six Sigma public training for the Jalisco State Government, which focused on training regional industries to implement and improve their productivity. He also created the first value engineering university course in Latin America that was granted official certification from SAVE International. As a result, engineering graduates were able to receive the Associate Value Specialist Certification. 

Javier has specialized training in company-wide quality and productivity management from the Central Japan Industries Association in Nagoya, Japan. Javier also has training in industrial engineering and quality control from Kitakyushu International Techno-Cooperative Agency in Kitakyushu, Japan. 

Aside from being a professor in the Engineering Masters at Universidad Panamericana for almost two decades, he is the founding President of the Instituto de Ingenieros Industriales de Occidente (Chapter 252 of the Institute of Industrial Engineers), a training agent at Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social (Federal Labor Bureau in Mexico) and has been one of the 15 jurors for the Jalisco's Award to Quality (Premio Jalisco a la Calidad) seven times.

Javier has presented at various conferences in the fields of industrial engineering, VE for manufacturing and construction, Lean manufacturing, computer simulation, and statistical process control, as well as collaboration skills for engineers in Mexico, Japan, the US, and Central and South America.
